This doesn’t surprise me in the slightest! I have a very solid history or building; scaling and exiting digital health startups, and I trained as a clinician and even training in hospitals with some of those early to FCI. But when I applied 4yrs ago or whatever, and I was in my late 20s, I was denied. I assumed it was for a load of (excuse the mild ageism here), but, old people to all talk shop and not “do”. I feel vindicated! I’ve since built another digital health service too and it’s going great guns thanks! This industry really doesn’t need another talking shop!

One thing that people outside health do not realise immediately is just how complex (and complicated) clinical informatcs is, in comparison with almost any other field. I guess the closest is defense. It was never going to be easy to have the FCI run by people who did not really understand digital health and what has gone right and wrong over the years.

I’ve just cancelled my Direct Debit. What a waste of money the FCI has been for me – frustrating to say the least.

Greek tragedy or Whitehall farce? This is now a corporate bin-fire. Am I the only one with a finger hovering over the “cancel direct debit” button ? I won’t renew in January without major changes.
