DIGICEN works to advocate for Digital Economic Inclusion through Universal Basic Income, CBDCs, Digital Literacy, Internet Access, and Democracy Tech. Support for Democracy Tech and Digital Economic Inclusion means advocating for Democracy and Civic Participation & Empowerment.

Empowerment is the degree of autonomy and self-determination in people and in communities. This enables them to represent their interests in a responsible and self-determined way, acting on their own authority. The Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act of 2021

The wealthiest 0.1% own as much wealth as the bottom 90%.
The Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act would level the playing field and narrow the racial wealth gap by asking the wealthiest 100,000 households in America, or the top 0.05%, to pay their fair share.
The Ultra-Millionaire Tax would bring in at least $3 trillion in revenue over 10 years.
The bill would create a fairer economy through: A 2% annual tax on the net worth of households and trusts between $50 million and $1 billion — A 1% annual surtax (3% tax overall) on the net worth of households and trusts above $1 billion.

"Wealth inequality is at its highest level since the Gilded Age. The wealth share of the richest 0.1% has nearly tripled since the late 1970s. It is time for the ultra-millionaires to pay their fair share so that critical government programs can be bolstered to help the everyday American. Our proposal will make a meaningful difference in the lives of Americans who need the most help and bolster our country's shrinking middle class." said Congressman Boyle

Cancel Student Debt Movement

As of 2020, Americans owe more than $1.6 trillion in student debt.
Student debt means the delay of countless dreams, such as buying a house, or starting a family.
Millions of lives are on indefinite hold — with incalculable costs both in terms of personal happiness and long-term prosperity.
Student loan debt now impacts over 45 million borrowers, households, and families nationwide.
Removing the debts could grow the GDP by billions of dollars and create 1.5 million new jobs.

Cancelling Student Debt would empower tens of millions of students to have more agency, to be more civically engaged, and to better tackle societies pressing challenges ahead.

Make the CTC Permanent

On July 15, 2021, more than 35 million families with 60 million children got the first Child Tax Credit (CTC) payments as part of the new law.
The CTC will lift 5 million children above the poverty line.
Funds are automatically deposited into bank accounts or via checks.

Support The Building an Economy for Families Act:
The Building an Economy for Families Act aims to permanently extend the refundable worker-and-family-focused tax credits included in the American Rescue Plan, including the Child Tax Credit (CTC), Earned Income Tax Credit, and The Child & Dependent Care Credit.  

Making the CTC Permanent would empower families and children so that their children are better prepared to meet the many challenges facing them in the future.

The UBI movement

Universal Basic Income provides an income floor for all, above the poverty line.

Open App Markets Act

In today's modern and mobile world, our smartphones are essential parts of our economic, social, and civic lives.
Allowing for a wider variety of apps and helping developers easily enter into new app ecosystems could both increase Digital Inclusion and Digital Economic Inclusion

The Open App Markets Act, if enacted, would mean developers are empowered to create and share more innovative apps. It would also mean users/people would have more choice of innovative apps.

The For The People Act

Would change how political campaign financing works.
Expands voter registration and access.
Expands prohibition on campaign spending by foreign nationals.
Requires additional disclosure of campaign-related fundraising and spending.
Requires additional disclaimers regarding certain political advertising.
Establishes an alternative campaign funding system for certain federal offices.
Establishment of the National Commission to Protect United States Democratic Institutions.
